In response to the complaint submitted by the Geghard Foundation regarding the publication of anti-Armenian and pseudo-scientific articles by Azerbaijani authors in the periodicals of Tomsk University, a reply has been received from the university’s leadership.
To the credit of Tomsk University, a special commission was established to examine the concerns raised by the Geghard Foundation. Without denying the problematic instances cited or the falsifications made by Azerbaijani authors, the university leadership acknowledged the issues and expressed their commitment to exercising greater responsibility and caution when reviewing similar submissions in the future.
We address Azerbaijani authors—such as Nigar Gozalova, who published an anti-Armenian article in one of the university’s periodicals—with an appeal to pursue scientific work with greater objectivity and impartiality, even if doing so may reveal fabrications in the historical narrative of their own country, Azerbaijan.
The Geghard Foundation will be consistent in its efforts to confront anti-Armenian rhetoric and pseudoscientific practices.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to the leadership of Tomsk University for their professional conduct and impartial stance in addressing this matter.
