2025
Following the 44-day war in 2020, monuments, busts, and statues dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Artsakh Liberation War have become targets of Azerbaijani vandalism. Monuments symbolizing Armenian identity and the heroism of the Armenian people have been primarily targeted. The latest monument to be vandalized by Azerbaijanis is a statue of Hovhannes Baghramyan, a renowned Soviet military commander, Marshal of the Soviet Union, and twice Hero of the Soviet Union. It was located in Stepanakert, on a street named after the marshal.
