St. John the Baptist Church (Green Chapel) is destroyed

St. John the Baptist Church, known as Green Chapel, was located in the city of Shushi in the Shushi region of the Republic of Artsakh. During the 44-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan in 2020, the church was shelled; the dome and bell tower of the church were damaged. Since November 2020, Shushi has been occupied by Azerbaijani armed forces. In February 2024, satellite images revealed that Azerbaijan had completely destroyed St. John the Baptist Church.
