The first issue of the international, peer-reviewed, online academic journal “Caucasus Heritage and Identity Studies” (CHIS) has been published. The newly established journal is dedicated to the multifaceted and interdisciplinary study of the Caucasian region's historical, cultural and spiritual heritage, identity and regional processes.
The journal is published by the International Association for Caucasus Heritage and Identity Studies (IACHIS), on the initiative of and on the platform of the “Geghard” Scientific Analytical Foundation.
The aim of “CHIS” is to present new research concerning the heritage and identity of the Caucasus within the international academic community, as well as to create a platform for collaboration and scientific dialogue among scholars from different countries.
The studies included in the first issue address issues related to the history, archaeology, culture, religion, identity, and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the Caucasus. The journal's interdisciplinary nature allows the region's issues to be considered not only from a historical perspective, but also from the viewpoints of cultural studies, religious studies, archaeology, and other disciplines.
The publication of “CHIS” is an important step towards the development of international academic research on the heritage and identity of the Caucasus. With the publication of its first issue, “Caucasus Heritage and Identity Studies” launches as a new international academic platform in the field of Caucasian Studies, aimed at the academic community interested in the study of the region's history, culture, and identity.
The “Geghard” Scientific Analytical Foundation expresses its gratitude to the foreign partners on the journal's editorial board and congratulates them and the authors of the articles on the publication of the first issue.
