Azerbaijanis consider the Amaras monastery complex as Caucasian Albanian, but the reality is different

One of the most prominent monastic complexes of medieval Armenia is Amaras. According to the 5th-century historian P'awstos Buzand (Faustus of Byzantium), the Church of Saint Grigoris at Amaras was constructed in the early 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator and completed by his grandson, Grigoris, who, according to the Armenian historian Movses Kaghankatvatsi, was buried on the eastern side of the church. At the beginning of the 5th century, Mesrop Mashtots established the first school in Artsakh at this site. Amaras served as one of the spiritual and episcopal centers of the Artsakh-Utik region. Over the centuries, the monastery was repeatedly destroyed by foreign invaders. In the 15th-16th centuries, numerous Armenian manuscripts were written and copied here. In September 2023, Amaras was occupied by Azerbaijani military forces.

It is inconceivable how Amaras, one of the spiritual and cultural centers of the Armenians of Artsakh and Utik, could be considered an "Albanian" cultural monument, especially when it was even located outside the territory of Albania (Aghwank) Proper.
