Azerbaijan destroyed the village of Mokhrenes

Azerbaijan’s acts of vandalism are not limited to the destruction of monuments, cemeteries, and churches. Azerbaijan is deliberately targeting and erasing Armenian villages and neighborhoods. For instance, the village of Mokhrenes in the Hadrut region, which came under Azerbaijani control during the 44-day war in 2020, has been completely destroyed. Satellite images reveal that most of the village’s houses, the school, kindergarden, and other buildings have been demolished. Overall, more than 40 houses and buildings have been destroyed, and the Surb Sargis (St. Sargis) Church of Mokhrenes was completely demolished by October 2022.
