In February 2019, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the fabricated narrative of the “Khojaly Genocide.” Why fabrication? Because a photo documenting the Armenian Genocide was presented at the exhibition as evidence of the purported Khojaly Genocide. Yes, you heard that correctly. An examination of the photo reveals that it actually depicts the forced deportation of Armenians to the Syrian city of Aleppo during the Armenian Genocide. Moreover, the original photo is preserved in the collection of the US Library of Congress. Essentially, faced with a shortage of so-called evidence for this invented “genocide,” the Azerbaijani side resorted to such a deceptive tactic, seeking to mislead the international community.
