Azerbaijanis make unfounded claims that the Cilician Armenian Kingdom was not of Armenian origin, but the reality is different

In the 11th century, an Armenian state was established in the former Byzantine territory of Cilicia, located in the southeastern part of Asia Minor, which existed until the end of the 14th century. All medieval sources - Armenian, European, Arab-Muslim, Byzantine - confirm that this state was Armenian. Moreover, it was sometimes called Armenia or Lesser Armenia. The kings of Cilicia bore the title "King of Armenia," which is also evident from the coins they minted. The center of the Armenian Church was also located here (Hromkla, Sis).

In the 21st century, Aliyev's propaganda is attempting to make "historical discoveries" in Cilicia as well. The followers of the "brilliant historian" Ilham Aliyev have reached the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Rejecting all irrefutable facts, they are simply trying to present this medieval Armenian state as Caucasian Albanian. The goal is to appropriate the history of the Cilician state.
